Among the Center’s programs that aim to train the local government administration sectors, King Salman Center for Local Governance (KSCLG) held a training program on the E-governance for local administration bodies. A number of members from government agencies participated in it including, the Amarah of Eastern Province, Riyadh Municipality, Northern Border Municipality, Eastern Region Municipality, AlQassim Region Council, and the High Commission for the Development of Riyadh.
The three-day program focused on a number of key themes including; concepts, principles and importance of E-governance, e-governance services models, planning strategy for delivering the governmental services electronically, means of promoting and developing the digital environment, requirements for the success of e-governmental services delivery and e-governance services performance indicators.
Based on the fact that delivering the services electronically is no longer an option, whether for government agencies or the private sector, it is necessary to realize the concepts and principles of E-governance. It is also necessary to realize the need to develop a sound strategy for delivering the services electronically which, in turn, contributes to deliver better and easier services for local governmental agencies and for the beneficiaries of their services.
