The King Salman Award for Local Governance was formally established in 2010 in cooperation with the Arab Administrative Development Organization. This biennial award for excellence in performance is bestowed upon local government entities and researchers in different categories in acknowledgment of their achievements.

 

Objectives of the Award

-Encouraging the organizational and administrative efficiency of local government entities.

-To establish and then publish the Local management best practices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

-To urge the competent authorities of the local administration to expand and cooperate with the private sector and the non-profit sector.

-Promoting the spirit of excellence, innovation and honest competition.

Who is entitled to apply?

Regional Entities: Provinces, Governorates, and Rural Centers.

Municipal Entities: Regional Municipalities and Municipalities.

Regional, Local and Municipal Councils.

Other related entities to local government.

Researchers interested in local governance.
