Focus Area

In order to be able to compete in an increasingly competitive and interlinked global economic context, regions and cities need to re-assess their economic development policies and business environments. This focus area investigates how local government authorities can stimulate their local economies in order to improve the quality of life and promote inclusive growth in cooperation with the private and non-profit sector. Studies and projects within this focus area cover topics ranging from public-private partnerships, privatization, and municipal revenue generation to entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
