Dr. Ameer Al-Alwan is an Associate Professor of Urban Planning at the Department of Engineering and Project Management and is currently assigned as the Director General of Economics and Finance Programs of the Institute of Public Administration. Dr. Ameer has authored several papers in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of transportation and housing and is currently working on a research project on Saudi municipal councils. He also worked as a part–time consultant for the government and private sector, including the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Housing, and Riyadh Economic Forum. Dr. Ameer holds a PhD in Urban Studies and an MA in Urban Planning from Portland State University, USA, as well as an MA in Urban and Regional Planning from Eastern Washington University, as well as Bachelor of Urban Planning from Eastern Washington University in USA.
