Bilal Saghir

Research Associate

Bilal Saghir is a research associate and urban planner with diverse working experience in the private, public and research sectors. His main research interests lie in metropolitan/spatial planning, urban and regional policy, participatory governance, and the role of GIS in analyzing transitional urban environments. Prior to joining the King Salman Center, Mr. Saghir worked as a senior analyst at the Urban Unit, Punjab, as well as at one of the leading private sector engineering consultancy firms in Pakistan. He also held a public office as Town Officer (Planning and Coordination). During his term as research assistant at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, he carried out several urban sustainability projects. Bilal holds an MSc in City & Regional Planning from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, and received his BSc in the same discipline from the University of Engineering & Technology in Lahore.
